One of the largest healthcare providers in the United States has disclosed a massive data breach affecting approximately 15 million patients. The breach, which occurred over a three-month period, exposed highly sensitive personal information including Social Security numbers, medical histories, and insurance details.
The company discovered the intrusion after detecting unusual data movement patterns in their network monitoring systems. Forensic analysis revealed that attackers had maintained persistent access for 94 days before detection.
