The LockBit 3.0 ransomware gang has claimed responsibility for a cyberattack on a major European financial institution, allegedly exfiltrating over 40GB of sensitive financial data including transaction records and customer PII.
The group posted the institution's name on their dark web leak site with a 72-hour deadline, threatening to publish all stolen data unless a ransom is paid. The affected bank has confirmed "an ongoing security incident" but has not disclosed the full scope.
